The inaugural KHK World Championship is open to all weight classes and all MMA promotions. The winner will take home US$100,000 and a belt made of 6.2kg of gold.

The bouts will be on the card of “Brave 29," which will take place in Bahrain on November 15, 2019 as part of the Brave International Combat Week. Only 10 spots were initially reserved for the shortlist but after the overwhelming response from hundreds of applicants, the list was extended to 15 MMA fighters including Copeland, Miller and Coulter.

Copeland was born on October 20, 1982. He made his professional MMA debut in 2012.

Currently based in Denver, Colorado, USA, Copeland has been competing in the Professional Fighters League since 2018. He currently has 18 wins, 6 losses and 1 draw.

From 2007 to 2016, Miller competed in the Ultimate Fighting Championship in the featherweight division. His most recent bout was on December 17, 2016 and he currently serves as a master instructor at Cause and Effect Tactical Solutions and the head instructor at Miller Martial Arts and Fitness.

Born on November 27, 1981 in Newton, North Carolina, USA, Coulter started his Muay Thai training in 2010. In 2011, he made his professional MMA debut in 2011.

Coulter competes in the light heavyweight division. He competed in Bellator MMA in 2015, in Legacy Fighting Championship from 2016 to 2017 and in the UFC and he currently has 9 wins and 4 losses.

Copeland, Miller, Coulter and the other 12 shortlisted KHK World Championship fighters are from 11 countries namely Brazil, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Dominican Republic, Iran, Lebanon, the Netherlands, Russia, Switzerland and the U.S. Brave CF president Mohammed Shahid said, “Our special committee was unable to cut all the hundreds of fighters and make a list of only 10 athletes.”

“There was too much talent involved so they decided to leave 15 names and we’ll draw them out and see what are the matchups,” Shahid continued. “I understand them as I would definitely have a hard time making the same choice. I’m very excited to find out who will be coming to the Kingdom of Bahrain to fight for the inaugural KHK World Championships.”

Among the 15 shortlisted MMA fighters, four will be selected to compete in the semifinals while one will serve as an alternate in case of an injury. Check the list on Conan Daily.
